Project: Timber Floor Addition
Architect: Atelier du Point du Jour
Architect Associate: Thibault Faÿ

This floor addition is made of wood and is located near the Seine River in the west of Paris.

Building in wood did not require to reinforce the foundations because of its light weight and it added an extra layer of insulation compare to traditional masonry. The flat roof as a strong insulation that is doubled by the green roof. Terraces are built on the street and on the garden side and a sun-breaker is protecting the southern facade from solar heat gain in summer and letting the sun in during the winter.
